Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professional moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho in October 21st, 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The release date was May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the web, including her own release single Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville crew at the time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna in reference to Rihanna. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track which she co-wrote alongside Cozz to record her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on October 21st in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured on the track Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas as her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video later released in September. In November, the singer released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. And on the 13th of November, she released two additional singles titled The No One as well as Pdigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. It was released with the release of a music video on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in one week. In December of 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
